Three people, including two children, have been airlifted by two separate RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopters following an accident involving a tour bus at Fraser Island this afternoon.

RACQ CareFlight Rescue urgently tasked both its Sunshine Coast and Bundaberg helicopters to Eurong on Fraser Island at about 3.45pm.

A woman in her 30s was reportedly standing in the aisle of the tour bus when it hit a rough patch on the track and she was thrown onto two children who were seated on the bus.

The woman suffered suspected spinal injuries and was flown by CareFlight’s Sunshine Coast helicopter to Nambour General Hospital.

The two children were treated for minor limb and facial injuries and flown by CareFlight’s Bundaberg helicopter to Hervey Bay Hospital for observation.

All three patients travelled in a stable condition.
