Surfer airlifted from Rainbow Beach
The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter has flown to Double Island Point at Rainbow Beach this afternoon to airlift a man in his 20s who was thrown from his surfboard, hitting the sand.
The man has a loss of sensation in his hands and was treated by CareFlight’s critical care doctor on scene just after 4:15pm.
The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter then flew the surfer to Nambour Hospital.
He travelled in a stable condition.
