Sixth motorbike rider airlifted by RACQ CareFlight Rescue
A man in his 20s was airlifted by RACQ CareFlight Rescue’s Toowoomba helicopter after a motorbike accident in the Cunningham’s Gap region yesterday afternoon.
The community rescue helicopter was tasked from Toowoomba’s Clive Berghofer CareFlight Centre to assist the man at approximately 3.20pm.
It’s believed the man was attempting a large motocross jump when the vehicle crashed.
Local event organisers assisted the helicopter to navigate the difficult terrain, allowing them to safely land nearby the patient.
The man was treated onsite by the Warwick-based Queensland Ambulance Service crew and CareFlight’s Critical Care Doctor.
Once stabilised, the man was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane with suspected head and spinal injuries.
He travelled in a stable condition.
This was the sixth motorbike accident CareFlight crews attended over the three-day long weekend.
