RACQ CareFlight Rescue airlifts boy after horse accident

The Sunshine Coast RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to a property in the Biggenden region shortly after 9.30am this morning to airlift a child who had been crushed by a horse.

En route to the scene of the accident the rescue crew was diverted to Biggenden Hospital where they collected the patient.

It’s believed a large horse sat on top of the young boy and then rolled over him.

The child was airlifted to Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane with suspected multi-trauma injuries.

He travelled in a stable condition with his mother at his side.
