Paramedic winched down to injured trail bike rider

A Brisbane woman in her forties has been airlifted to hospital with possible leg fractures after her trail bike collided with a four wheel drive at Jimna near the Conondale National Park, west of Maroochydore.

It’s believed the woman was riding on Sunday Creek Road when the two vehicles collided.

The Sunshine Coast RACQ CareFlight rescue helicopter was tasked to the scene just before noon.

A QAS flight paramedic was winched down to the woman to initially treat her left leg injuries on scene.

She was transported by QAS ambulance to nearby Sunday Creek Environmental Education Centre Park to the waiting rescue helicopter.

The woman was airlifted to Nambour Hospital in a stable condition.
