Mountain climber winched to safety

RACQ CareFlight's Gold Coast Rescue helicopter was activated Saturday afternoon at 1:30pm, where a mountain climber had found himself stuck on Mt Lindsay 20km South West of Rathdowney.

The climber had found himself stuck at the bottom of a cliff 1000 ft from the top of the mountain. He alerted emergency services through the 000 service.

Once on scene our pilot carefully manoeuvred the aircraft, where our rescue crewman lowered our Intensive Care Flight Paramedic to the cliff to assist the stranded climber.

Once in the winch strop they were both winched up to the aircraft.

As the climber was uninjured the rescue helicopter landed at Rathdowney where Police were waiting to drive the climber back to his car.
