Motorcyclist airlifted after hitting kangaroo
A motorcyclist has been airlifted by RACQ CareFlight Rescue overnight (Tuesday) after colliding with a kangaroo in the Western Downs region.
The man in his 50s suffered multiple injuries after hitting the animal west of Meandarra on Tuesday evening.
He sustained suspected leg, shoulder and rib injuries in the crash.
The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was dispatched from the Clive Berghofer CareFlight Centre in Toowoomba at 7pm.
The patient was picked up from St George and flown to Toowoomba Hospital.
He travelled in a stable condition.
One in 10 of all RACQ CareFlight Rescue missions is to provide critical care to patients injured in serious road accidents.
