Moreton Bay Region child airlifted from Fraser Island
A nine-year-old girl suffering breathing problems has been airlifted from Fraser Island overnight (Friday) by the RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter service.
The Bundaberg-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to Orchid Beach on Fraser Island shortly before 11.30pm on Friday night.
The young Moreton Bay Region local was airlifted to CareFlight’s Bundaberg hangar.
She was then transported by road to Bundaberg Base Hospital under the watchful eye of the QAS Flight Intensive Care Paramedic to undergo medical treatment for a respiratory condition.
The girl travelled in a stable condition with her mother by her side.
