Injured man airlifted after fatal head-on crash

A man in his 40s has been airlifted to Brisbane by RACQ CareFlight Rescue following a fatal two car head-on collision 42 kilometres north of Bundaberg.

He sustained a suspected serious leg injury and possible chest injuries in the crash, which happened on Rosedale Road at Mullet Creek.

The Sunshine Coast RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter responded to the accident at 11.30am, landing approximately 500 metres south of the accident.

The man was treated at the scene by emergency services and CareFlight’s medical team, including a Critical Care Doctor and QAS Flight Intensive Care Paramedic.

He was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.

The two car smash claimed the life of an elderly woman.
