Injured man airlifted after car crash

A man in his 40s has been injured in a single motor vehicle accident at Toolara Forest in the Wide Bay-Burnett region, requiring the airlift by an RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter.

The man was driving along Tin Can Bay Road when he lost control and crashed.

The vehicle rolled before landing in an embankment on the side of the road.

He suffered a suspected spinal injury.

RACQ CareFlight Rescue’s Sunshine Coast helicopter responded to the accident at 11am, with a CareFlight Critical Care Doctor and QAS Flight Intensive Care Paramedic on board.

The patient was airlifted to Nambour General Hospital in a stable condition.
