Driver airlifted after deadly two truck crash

One driver is dead and another has been airlifted to hospital after two trucks collided north west of Brisbane overnight.

The Toowoomba RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was called to Booubyjan, 100 kilometres north west of Gympie, just before 9.30pm.

It’s believed two trucks, one carrying a caravan the other cattle, collided at the intersection of the Burnett Highway and Murgon Gayndah Road.

Queensland Police have confirmed that one driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man in his 50s was treated on site by QAS and the RACQ CareFlight Rescue medical team.

He was airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition with suspected chest and other injuries.

The highway was closed for hours.
