CareFlight airlifts injured truck driver from Taroom

CareFlight’s Surat Gas Aero-Medical Service (SGAS) helicopter has airlifted a 50-year-old man from the scene of motor vehicle accident in Taroom this morning.

It’s understood a truck collided with a tree causing the man to become entrapped in the vehicle.

The Roma-based rescue helicopter was tasked to the accident on the Leichhardt Highway at 7.00am this morning.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called to release the man from the truck.

He was treated by the CareFlight Doctor at the scene for suspected head injuries.

The man was flown to Taroom Airport in a stable condition.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service then transported the man to Brisbane for further medical treatment.

This is the second patient CareFlight’s SGAS helicopter has airlifted from Taroom as a result of motor vehicle accidents this week.
