CareFlight airlifts eighth motor vehicle accident victim in four days

A woman in her fifties involved in a single vehicle rollover this afternoon became RACQ CareFlight Rescue’s eighth motor vehicle crash patient in just four days.

The patient was injured in an accident on the same road two CareFlight helicopters were tasked to on Saturday.

The woman is believed to have suffered neck and head injuries after the vehicle she was travelling in rolled on the Isis Highway near Biggenden.

It was reported that the vehicle she was travelling in was towing a caravan when it rolled.

The patient was taken by road to Biggenden Hospital and airlifted by the Bundaberg-based helicopter to Bundaberg Base Hospital.

She travelled in a stable condition.

On Saturday a husband and wife from Glenwood were involved in single vehicle rollover on same stretch of road.

The male patient in his late fifties had suffered multiple serious injuries to his body and was airlifted to Nambour Hospital in a stable condition by the Sunshine Coast crew. The female patient in her early sixties was treated for injuries to her legs and was airlifted to the Bundaberg Hospital by the Bundaberg crew also in a stable condition.
