CareFlight’s fundraising manager wins business woman award

One of RACQ CareFlight Rescue’s most dedicated employees on the Sunshine Coast has been honoured at the 2015 Business Woman of the Year Awards on Saturday night.

CareFlight’s North Coast Fundraising Manager Angela Miles scooped up the award for Professional Business Woman of the Year, which recognises and celebrates business women on the Sunshine Coast.

Ms Miles was delighted to receive the prestigious accolade for her exceptional contribution to CareFlight’s lifesaving community service.

“To be acknowledged for my individual achievements amongst such esteemed women in business is a great honour,” she said.

“I’m very proud to have won the Professional Business Woman of the Year award.

“It’s very exciting.”

CareFlight Executive Fundraising Manager Leanne Angel said it’s wonderful that one of CareFlight’s hard-working employees behind the scenes had been recognised with the award.

“Angela’s selfless commitment to raising vital funds and awareness for CareFlight allows us to continue our mission of saving lives and serving the community,” Ms Angel said.

“The award is very well deserved.”

Ms Miles has worked for the helicopter rescue service for eight years.

“Besides my personal motivation for receiving this wonderful award, I know full well there is a strong possibility that this recognition will add value to my role here with CareFlight,” Ms Miles said.

“Not a day goes by that I don’t reflect on the incredible lifesaving work being performed by our rescue crews and wonder who our team is going to save today.

“The operational costs to keep our community helicopters flying is very high, and I know that my strengths and relationship networks go towards assisting and bridging this gap.

“I see first-hand the commitment and dedication of our amazing team and it inspires me to no end,” she said.

The 2015 Sunshine Coast Business Women’s Network Awards Gala was held on Saturday night at The Events Centre in Caloundra.
