CareFlight’s annual gala promises to be a ball
Revellers are set to frock up once again for the ninth annual RACQ CareFlight Rescue Gala Ball at Rumours International in Toowoomba on Saturday May 30.
Tickets are selling fast for the 2015 Winter Wonderland Gala Ball with more than half of the tickets already snapped up – and the event is still two months away!
CareFlight’s South West Fundraising Manager Sarah Delahunty said the much-loved black tie event promises to be a glamorous evening with an enchanting winter wonderland theme.
“Every year, tickets sell out incredibly quickly, which is testament to how popular the event is,” Ms Delahunty said.
“Everyone is reminded to be quick if they don’t want to miss out on this memorable night of entertainment, glamour and fine food – all while celebrating CareFlight’s lifesaving service in the South West.”
CareFlight’s local Toowoomba helicopter has kept a watchful eye over communities in the South West for nine years.
“The community helicopter service is incredibly vital to the South West region, with more than 2,000 lifesaving airlifts since CareFlight began operating from the Toowoomba base in 2006,” Ms Delahunty said.
“Just last year, the Toowoomba helicopter airlifted 400 seriously ill or injured patients in need of urgent medical care.”
All funds raised from the event will go directly to CareFlight’s helicopter service, helping to keep the Toowoomba based helicopter flying in the community.
Helping to raise much-needed funds on the night will be an exciting live auction and digital silent auction with an array of sought after items up for grabs.
“Every year we receive fantastic support from local businesses donating items,” Ms Delahunty said.
“There will be an outback holiday experience at Birdsville in far south western Queensland including four return flights and tour vouchers with Birdsville Desert Edge Tours.
“One-of-a-kind sporting memorabilia donated by Senergy Management will also be on offer including four-time Olympic champion Inge Bruijn’s swimsuit, and a signed basketball that was used by USA gold medallists the Dream Team at the 2000 Olympic Games.
“We hope everyone at the event digs deep and bids big on these great items.”
Tickets are still available for $199 per person or $1,990 for a table of 10.
