A woman in her 60s has been airlifted from a property at Teelah, south east of Nanango, suffering injuries after falling from her horse.

The woman was sitting on her horse when the animal suddenly reared up.

She was struck in the head by her horse and fell off the back of the animal.

The horse then landed on the woman.

She sustained suspected head, abdominal and pelvic injuries in the incident.

The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked from the Sunshine Coast base at Maroochydore around 12.30pm.
