Teenager winched to safety Mt Lofty

RACQ CareFlight's Toowoomba crew was activated to reports of a teenager that had fallen from a track, down a cliff at Mt Lofty roughly 30 metres.

The rescue helicopter departed the Clive Berghofer CareFlight Centre at 3:45pm on 24 August and once overhead an Aircrewman winched down a Flight Paramedic and Critical Care Doctor to the patient.

Once on the ground our medical team treated the patient for cuts and abrasions and upper limb injuries.

With the assistance of the Queensland Ambulance Service and the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service, our team relocated the patient on the stretcher to a clear area, so the teenager and crew could be winched up to the helicopter.

Once on board it was only a short distance to the Toowoomba Base Hospital for further treatment.
