Second motocross rider airlifted by CareFlight

The Sunshine Coast based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter landed at Cooyar Oval today to treat a motocross rider with a serious leg injury.

The man in his twenties was taken from Cooyar Motocross Park by road ambulance to a nearby oval where the RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter landed.

The CareFlight Doctor and flight paramedic stabilised the serious leg injury the patient had sustained after performing a jump and landing awkwardly.

The CareFlight chopper transported the patient to Toowoomba Base Hospital for further treatment in a stable condition.

This is the second airlift of its kind today after an earlier emergency medical transfer was required for another injured motocross rider at QLD Moto Park, 30km from Beaudesert.
