School holiday fun for a good cause

Hundreds of hungry kids are expected to flock to Toowoomba Plaza Shopping Centre these school holidays to decorate Donut King donuts and create SandWizard works of art to raise funds for RACQ CareFlight Rescue.

From 13 – 18 January 2014, families can participate in any of the Centre’s supervised school holiday activities for a gold coin donation to Toowoomba’s own helicopter rescue service.

RACQ CareFlight’s life sized bear Mascot ‘Chief’ will meet and greet with little fans on Monday 13 January to kick off the festivities.

RACQ CareFlight’s Tracey Wilson says parents should think of the donut decorating as guilt-free calories for a cause.

“We’re hoping to raise as much money as possible to keep our lifesaving helicopters flying across Toowoomba throughout the busy school holiday period,” Ms Wilson said.

The activities will run from 10am – 4pm daily. Toowoomba Plaza Shopping Centre is located at 878 Ruthven Street, Toowoomba.
