Quad bike rider airlifted from rural property

An injured quad bike rider has been airlifted from a rural property in the North Burnett region by the RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter service.

The man in his thirties sustained a suspected head injury and chest pain after falling off a quad bike.

The Bundaberg RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter and Queensland Ambulance Service were called to the accident near Biggenden about 9am.

CareFlight’s Flight Intensive Care Paramedic treated and stabilised the man before transferring him to Bundaberg Base Hospital.

The patient travelled in a stable condition.

RACQ CareFlight Rescue’s community helicopter service delivers rapid response air-medical care to rural and regional Queensland communities.

Just last year, the crews responded to 432 missions in the Wide Bay Burnett region, servicing locations such as Biggenden, Gin Gin, Childers, Mundubbera and Gayndah.
