Pedestrian hit by car at Noosa

A German tourist has been hit by a car on the Sunshine Coast this afternoon.

The 24-year-old pedestrian sustained suspected multi-trauma injuries after he was struck by the vehicle at the intersection of Noosa Drive and Noosa Parade in Noosa Heads.

An RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was urgently dispatched from the Maroochydore base, landing in a nearby park at 3.30pm.

The Critical Care Doctor and Flight Intensive Care Paramedic on-board CareFlight’s Sunshine Coast helicopter assessed and treated the man’s life-threatening injuries.

The man was airlifted to Nambour General Hospital in a critical condition.

Two other people were also taken to Nambour General Hospital by QAS road ambulance.

The driver sustained serious injuries in the crash and a second pedestrian has minor injuries.
