Motorcyclist airlifted after hitting kangaroo

A 52-year-old male from Burnett Heads sustained a suspected lower leg injury in a motorbike accident involving a kangaroo.

The patient was treated at the scene of the accident by a CareFlight doctor and a flight paramedic on the Chinchilla-Wondai Road in Durong.

The man was then flown by the Toowoomba RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter to the Toowoomba Base Hospital in a stable condition.

One in ten of all RACQ CareFlight Rescue missions are to treat and airlift patients seriously injured in road accidents.
