Man seriously injured in Double Island Point motorbike crash

RACQ CareFlight Rescue has airlifted a Sunshine Coast man who was seriously injured in a motorbike crash at Double Island Point.

The man, aged in his twenties, was riding along the beach when he lost control and crashed on Saturday afternoon.

The Sunshine Coast based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter landed on the beach at around 5.30pm where its flight doctor and intensive care flight paramedic treated the man for multi-trauma injuries.

He was airlifted to Nambour General Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

One in 10 of all RACQ CareFlight Rescue missions are to treat and airlift patients seriously injured in motor vehicle accidents, including those involving motorbikes.
