Man impaled in quad bike crash

A man has been impaled on a handle bar and another has barbed wire injuries to his neck after a quad bike crash at Rules Beach this morning.

The RACQ CareFlight Rescue Bundaberg crew was tasked to the scene, 100 kilometres north of Bundaberg, at 11am this morning.

The pair, both from the Sunshine Coast and in their early 20s, were holidaying in the region when injured.

The handlebar had been removed from the injured man’s upper thigh before the RACQ CareFlight crew arrived.

Both men were flown by RACQ CareFlight Rescue to the Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.
