Man critical after crashing into fence at Gatton

RACQ CareFlight Rescue has airlifted a man who was seriously injured after crashing into a fence at Gatton overnight (Saturday).

The 33-year-old sustained facial lacerations and a suspected head injury in the single motor vehicle accident.

The Gold Coast RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was called in to transfer the man to hospital at about 8.30pm.

The helicopter landed at the Gatton Showgrounds to pick up the patient.

He was transferred to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

One in ten of all RACQ CareFlight Rescue missions are to treat and airlift patients seriously injured in road accidents.
