Man airlifted after truck rollover

The Roma based Surat Basin Gas Industry Aeromedical Service has airlifted a man who was injured in a single truck rollover between Miles and Yuleba.

A 55 year old male driver escaped the wreckage through a broken windscreen, when his truck crashed and rolled over across the Jackson-Wandoan Road at approximately 8am this morning.

The Surat Basin Gas Industry Aeromedical Service flew to the scene where the driver was treated by CareFlight’s Critical Care Doctor and Flight Intensive Care Paramedic for chest injuries.

He was flown to Toowoomba Base Hospital in a stable condition.

The Surat Basin Gas Industry Aeromedical Service began flying in April 2011, to minimise impacts on community medical services in Queensland’s far south west.  The Service donates the aircraft to the community and has airlifted nearly 150 seriously ill or injured residents in that time.
