Man airlifted after tree falls

RACQ CareFlight Rescue has flown to the aid of a man who seriously injured his leg while cutting a tree on a property west of Childers this afternoon.

The 52-year-old-man had been using a chainsaw to cut the tree when the base ‘sprungback’ as the top fell to the ground.

It landed on the man’s leg, trapping him for several hours.

The man’s wife made the discovery and alerted emergency authorities.

The Bundaberg based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter flew to the scene at around 4.30pm where its Intensive Care Flight Paramedic treated the man’s injuries.

He was airlifted to Bundaberg Base Hospital in a stable condition.
