Man airlifted after snake bite

RACQ CareFlight Rescue flew to the aid of a man who was bitten by a snake at a property in Tummaville yesterday.

The man aged in his forties was bitten on his leg some time before 3pm on Tuesday.

Its species cannot be confirmed.

The Toowoomba based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter flew to the property where its flight doctor and intensive care flight paramedic treated the man, who was showing signs of envenomation.

He was airlifted to Toowoomba Base Hospital in a stable condition.

RACQ CareFlight Rescue advise people who suspect they have been bitten by a snake to stay calm, limit movement, apply compression and immediately contact emergency services.
