Fifth patient airlifted in off-road biking accident

An RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted an Ipswich man who was injured in a motocross accident at Manar Park in Boondooma yesterday afternoon (Saturday).

The 22-year-old rider suffered a suspected fractured leg and other possible injuries.

This was the fifth off-road motorcycle accident that RACQ CareFlight Rescue responded to yesterday.

RACQ CareFlight Rescue’s Toowoomba helicopter was tasked from the Clive Berghofer CareFlight Centre at 3.30pm.

The rider was flown to Toowoomba Base Hospital in a stable condition.

Yesterday the Toowoomba crew also airlifted a teenage boy who sustained suspected abdominal and arm injuries after falling off a trail bike in the Chinchilla area.

A second trail bike rider was airlifted by the Sunshine Coast helicopter from Beerburrum State Forest yesterday morning.

The 54-year-old Brisbane man crashed into a tree, suffering a suspected chest injury.

The Sunshine Coast crew were again called to an off-road motorcycle crash involving two men on a private property in South Isis yesterday afternoon.

The first patient suffered a suspected head injury and was flown to Bundaberg Base Hospital, while the second patient was taken by QAS road ambulance with suspected pelvic and arm injuries.
