Driver airlifted after Aussie Bush Rally crash

RACQ CareFlight Rescue has flown to the aid of a driver injured in the 2014 Aussie Bush Rally in the South Burnett region.

The 41-year-old Sunshine Coast man lost control of his vehicle which veered off the course and down a 20 metre embankment earlier this afternoon.

The Sunshine Coast based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter flew to the scene where its flight doctor and intensive care flight paramedic treated the man for spinal complications.

He was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.

A female co-driver was also on-board at the time of the crash.

She was treated by paramedics at the scene.

Her injuries and condition are not known.
