Critically injured woman airlifted after two car smash

A woman who was seriously injured in a two car collision in Toowoomba has been urgently airlifted between hospital facilities for specialist medical treatment.

It is understood the 18-year-old suffered multiple injuries including a suspected head injury in the crash, which happened near Tor and North Streets in Toowoomba.

An RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was dispatched from the Clive Berghofer CareFlight Centre in Toowoomba shortly after 10am to retrieve the patient from Toowoomba Base Hospital.

The young woman was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

One in ten of all RACQ CareFlight Rescue missions are to treat and airlift patients seriously injured in road accidents.
