Child injured in quad bike accident at Beaudesert

A child has been airlifted to Brisbane by RACQ CareFlight Rescue after sustaining multiple injuries in a quad bike accident this afternoon.

The young girl suffered suspected head, spinal and abdominal injuries after coming off a quad bike and falling approximately one metre onto the ground.

RACQ CareFlight Rescue’s Toowoomba helicopter was dispatched from the Clive Berghofer CareFlight Centre shortly before 1pm.

The crew landed at a private property in Beaudesert within 30 minutes.

The Critical Care Doctor and Flight Intensive Care Paramedic on-board the chopper assessed and treated the girl’s injuries on scene.

She was flown to the Mater Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.

One in five air-medical retrievals flown by RACQ CareFlight Rescue are to treat and airlift seriously injured people who require immediate specialist care.
