CareFlight called in after tree falls on man

A man has been airlifted to hospital by RACQ CareFlight Rescue with a serious leg injury after a tree fell on him.

The man, aged in his 40s, was cutting down trees on a property in Lowmead when the accident happened.

It is believed a tree has hit another tree and sprung back suddenly, landing on his leg.

He was trapped for almost one hour before he could be freed.

The Bundaberg RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to the property around 1.30pm.

CareFlight’s Flight Intensive Care Paramedic treated the man’s injuries before he was flown to Bundaberg Base Hospital.

He travelled in a stable condition.
