CareFlight airlifts woman injured in crash

A woman has been urgently airlifted to hospital by the RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter with serious injuries after a motor vehicle accident this afternoon.

The middle aged woman sustained suspected head, chest and abdominal injuries in the crash, which happened on a stretch of road in Beeron, south of Mundubbera.

RACQ CareFlight Rescue’s Bundaberg crew responded to the accident about 3pm.

The Flight Intensive Care Paramedic assessed and treated the woman at the scene, before she was airlifted to Bundaberg Base Hospital.

She travelled in a stable condition.

One in ten of all RACQ CareFlight Rescue missions are to treat and airlift patients seriously injured in road accidents.
