CareFlight airlifts second Aussie Bush Rally crash victim

RACQ CareFlight Rescue has airlifted a second person injured in the Aussie Bush Rally 2014 in the South Burnett region.

At around 8:30pm last (Saturday) night, the Sunshine Coast based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to airlift a 57-year-old man injured when the rally car he was co-driving crashed and rolled.

The man, from the Bundaberg region, suffered head and abdominal injuries.

He was transported from the scene of the crash to Murgon Hospital before being airlifted to Nambour General Hospital.
 
He travelled in a stable condition.

Earlier yesterday, RACQ CareFlight Rescue airlifted a 41-year-old Sunshine Coast man injured after he lost control of his rally car which veered off the course and down a 20 metre embankment.

He was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
