CareFlight airlifts injured patient after fatal head on crash

A 19-year-old man has been airlifted to Brisbane overnight (Tuesday) following a fatal head on collision in Maroondan near Gin Gin yesterday afternoon.

Several RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopters were involved in the emergency medical retrieval, which claimed the life of another man.

The Gold Coast RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked late last night to transfer the injured man to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for further medical treatment.

He travelled in a stable condition.

The young man suffered suspected multi-trauma injuries in the crash.

One in ten of all RACQ CareFlight Rescue missions are to treat and airlift patients seriously injured in road accidents.
