CareFlight airlifts Sunshine Coast teen injured in motocross accident

A teenage boy from the Sunshine Coast has been airlifted by RACQ CareFlight Rescue after suffering a suspected leg injury in a motocross accident near Kilcoy.

The motocross rider was seriously injured after falling off a trail bike at a motocross track in Glenfern.

The Sunshine Coast RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter responded to the accident just after 10.30am.

A Critical Care Doctor and Intensive Care Flight Paramedic on-board CareFlight’s helicopter treated the young man before transferring him to the Royal Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.

RACQ CareFlight Rescue has been called to the scene of eight primary missions this week, including a motor vehicle accident on a rural property near Wondai, where a teenage boy suffered suspected head, shoulder and pelvic injuries after falling off the back of a ute.
