Brisbane woman airlifted from Moreton Island

An elderly Brisbane woman has been flown to hospital after suffering a suspected cardiac condition during a day trip on Moreton Island.

RACQ CareFlight Rescue’s helicopter service was called to the Tangalooma Island Resort around 4pm.

The woman, aged in her 80s, was treated by the Gold Coast-based helicopter’s Critical Care Doctor and Intensive Care Flight Paramedic before being airlifted to The Prince Charles Hospital in a stable condition.

RACQ CareFlight Rescue has four community helicopter bases servicing Queensland, stretching from the Gold Coast to Bundaberg and west to Toowoomba.

One third of all missions RACQ CareFlight Rescue flies are primary missions requiring swift specialist attention.
