10-year-old boy injured by horse

RACQ CareFlight Rescue has flown to the aid of a 10-year-old boy who was injured by a horse on a property 20 kilometres west of Gin Gin.

A family member told the CareFlight crew that the boy was riding a mare, which ‘reared up’ at around 8.30am today.

The boy fell and the horse landed on top of him, trapping him for some time.

The Bundaberg based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter flew to the property where its intensive care flight paramedic assessed and treated the boy.

The child’s injuries were determined to be minor and he was not transported by the helicopter.
