Truck driver bitten by Brown snake

A 42 year old man has been being bitten by a brown snake at Pittsworth.

The RACQ CareFlight helicopter was tasked shortly after 3.30pm to treat the injured truck driver.

The crew flew to a truck stop along the Gore Hwy just outside of Pittsworth to airlift the man to Toowoomba Hospital.

The truck driver was travelling between Brisbane and Perth when he stopped at a truck stop, stepped out of his vehicle and was bitten on the right ankle by what he believed to be a Brown snake.

The Eastern brown snake is considered one of the most deadly snakes in the world.

The man was in a stable condition during the flight to Brisbane.
