Man's hand caught in farming machinery

The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted a 35 year old man who suffered a severe limb injury in a farming accident. The man was working on a Macadamia Farm north west of Gympie when the accident occurred.

The man told rescue crew something became stuck in the de-husker he was operating and he was attempting to clear the blockage.

The man’s left hand got caught in the machine.

The helicopter’s flight doctor and flight paramedic stabilised the man on site before he was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
