Man airlifted after crash with truck carrying explosives

RACQ CareFlight Rescue has flown to the scene of a crash involving a sedan and a truck transporting explosives.

The vehicles collided shortly before 9.30am near the Isis Highway and Bluebell Road intersection at Biggenden.

QAS road crews, police and fire-fighters responded to the incident and worked to free two occupants trapped in the car.

The Bundaberg-based RACQ CareFlight helicopter landed at the scene where its intensive care flight paramedic treated the vehicle’s front seat passenger for neck and spinal injuries.

The 26 year old man was flown to the Bundaberg Base Hospital in a stable condition.

The drivers of the car and truck both suffered head injuries and were taken to Bundaberg Base Hospital by road.
