John Kennedy goes from crewman to cover star

RACQ CareFlight's (formerly the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter) very own John Kennedy has gone from crewman to cover star of the 2013/2014 edition of the Bundaberg White and Yellow Pages.

This year’s edition showcases the theme “Keeping Our Communities Healthy”, recognising the selfless Australians who go above and beyond to improve the quality of life for others in their area.

White Pages Product Manager Sarah Simpson said John was a perfect fit for the new Bundaberg edition.

“Health is an issue that affects us all and at the centre of good health are the selfless men and women who devote their time to improving others’ quality of life,” she said.

“We are delighted to recognise John’s efforts keeping his community healthy.

“He is someone who is making a positive impact on health and wellbeing in the Bundaberg region.”

John has always had a passion for helping people, joining the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter as a volunteer crewman in 2001.

John said he was overwhelmed to be the publication’s cover star.

“I am completely stunned to be honoured on the cover, especially after seeing the incredible people who go above and beyond in our community when times are tough,” John said.

“The recent floods highlighted the importance of the helicopter services in providing critical care.

"It’s an essential service that continues outside of disasters and, therefore, I urge the local community to continue to support us.”

The White and Yellow Pages will be distributed to households throughout the Bundaberg region – including Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Kingaroy, Murgon and Gayndah districts.
