Child critical after being hit by car

RACQ CareFlight Rescue has flown to the aid of a seven year old who was hit by a car in the Bundaberg region.

The girl had hopped off her school bus, moved to the rear and was crossing the road when she was struck by a car travelling in the opposite direction shortly before 3.30pm.

She suffered multi-trauma injuries.

The Bundaberg-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted the girl to Bundaberg Base Hospital in a critical condition.

She will be transferred to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital by RACQ CareFlight Rescue’s Sunshine Coast crew later this evening.
