CareFlight airlifts Warwick snake bite victim
The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter has been tasked to Warwick this evening to airlift a man in his 20s who was bitten on the arm by a suspected King Brown snake.
The Toowoomba-based helicopter retrieved the patient from Warwick Hospital after he was bitten on a property north west of Warwick while working in his yard.
Aircrewman Brian Guthrie said the quick-thinking man captured the snake following the bite.
“The man presented the snake to us in a bag which will help medical teams confirm whether it was a King Brown snake and determine the appropriate course of treatment,” he said.
“We flew the patient to Toowoomba Base Hospital where he will undergo further tests.
“He travelled in a stable condition,” he said.
