Man walks from crash with fractured vertebrae

The Gold Coast based crew have been tasked to Stanthorpe to airlift a 28 year old Chinese national who has been injured in a single vehicle accident.

The man sustained two broken ribs and four fractured vertebrae after his car came off the road, crashed into a power pole, then spun into a tree.

He managed to get himself out of the vehicle but appears to have fractured four vertebrae in the crash.

CareFlight's medical team said the man was incredibly lucky he didn’t do serious damage to his spine after moving from the wreckage.
CareFlight landed on-site shortly after the crash to treat the badly injured driver.

He was airlifted to the PA Hospital in a stable condition.
