Man pulled unconcious from the surf

A man who was pulled unconscious from the surf north of Teewah has been airlifted to hospital by the RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter.

The 42 year old Buderim man was at Noosa North Shore with friends when he went for a swim and became caught in a rip.

The man was already underwater when his friends reached him, pulling him to shore.

The helicopter landed on the beach where its flight doctor and flight paramedic assessed the man and treated him at the scene.

He was airlifted to Nambour General Hospital in a stable condition.
